About Me

Hi there! I’m Jake.

 

After graduating with a BA History (International) from the University of Leeds during which I spent a year abroad at Leiden University in the Netherlands, I decided to further pursue my fascination for the past by returning to Leeds in 2019 to complete an MA Modern History.

 

Next, armed with a CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) qualification from the University of Cambridge, I moved to Bolivia where I taught English and grammar for just over a year, also learning Spanish in the process.

 

Transitioning into a cultural journalist and editor specializing in history content, I have rapidly risen to the top of my field, and count some of the most popular history websites and Youtube channels as clients.

 

Outside of work I enjoy reading voraciously, finding new and interesting words to add to my repertoire, keeping sharp with regular long distance running, and writing and recording songs with my guitar.
